Built as a satellite for the 1992 Olympics, La Tania is a custom made resort situated at 1350 metres, the lowest point of the Courchevel lift system. The car-free environment makes it a safe and cosy place for couples and those with small children, but as it is packed full of shops, ski-hire locations and restaurants too, you’ll never feel like you’re missing out.
The resort offers plenty of affordable self-catering accommodation, in the form of studios and apartments and also chalets for larger groups. Over the years, it’s become a popular choice with British skiers, but has maintained its reputation as a quiet spot in the resort.
For families, novice skiers and those looking to learn to ski, the location has a lot to offer. The lower altitude means there is an abundance of nursery, novice and intermediate runs. The immediate area is picturesque, with tree-lined pistes and it’s fairly quiet, with plenty of room to move. For this reason, The Snow School has chosen La Tania as one of its learn to ski locations.
While you can take skiing lessons in almost every French resort, The Snow School offers something a little different. We favour smaller groups and a more personal experience and this resort suits our philosophy down to a tee.
La Tania’s inclusion in The Three Valley’s also makes it a great choice for mixed ability trips. The more confident skiers in a group can explore the higher resort areas, while the novices hone their skills lower down, and everyone can still be back in time for a group lunch.
What’s more, as the resort is part of the Courchevel lift system, as our students progress through the week they can quickly find new and interesting terrain to explore higher up the mountain. However, those happy to spend the whole week at 1350 meters will still go home with some great skiing holiday memories.
